Schedule:
Friday, September 10th
6:30pm – Meet at Hickory Flat UMC
Eat before you come or bring sandwich with you.
7:00pm – Leave for Camp 175
Sunday, April 18th
11:45am – Arrive Hickory Flat UMC – scouts will call when we are 1/2 hour away from church
Transportation:
Adult leaders will drive to Camp 175 & back.
Directions to Camp 175:
From Hickory Flat UMC, turn left onto East Cherokee Dr. Turn right onto Hickory Rd. Cross over Hwy 5 and continue on Ridge Rd. Turn left onto Bells Ferry Rd. Slight right onto Victory Dr. Turn right onto Kellogg Creek Rd. Entrance to Camp 175 is on right, across from Payne Campground (Payne Campground’s address is 2495 Kellogg Creek Road). Turn right up the hill and follow dirt road to second gate, if unlocked proceed until you reach the parking area at the top of the camp. Please park here and proceed on foot. We do not recommend driving within the camp since the drive to the Mess Hall is steep and can become slick.
Costs:
Bring small bills so we can settle up on Friday.
Camp fee & gas money - $5
Food – by patrol, estimate $10-12
Meals:
Friday – bring a sandwich to eat when we are driving to Camp 175
Saturday & Sunday – meals by patrol
Clothing & Equipment:
• Class A uniform (shirt only) – WEAR SHIRT FRIDAY NIGHT FOR RIDE TO Camp 175
• sleeping bag (medium weight, it might get chilly at night, I hope)
• sleeping pad (foam pad)
• water bottle or canteen (A MUST, IT WILL BE HOT DURING THE DAY)
• 2 T-shirts (class B & other)
• extra pair of pants or shorts
• socks & underwear…please
• rain jacket or poncho ($1 poncho @ Wal-Mart works fine)
• flashlight
• toiletries…at least a toothbrush
• wind breaker type jacket or sweatshirt or hoodie
• waterproof shoes (boots) or extra shoes
• duffle bag or backpack
• sunscreen (no aerosols)
• insect repellant (no aerosols)
• tent (boys picked tent partners)
